Establishing a new Focus Group?
    • Identify a community project that will reduce the threat of an uncontrolled wildfire, (educational, fuel modification).  

    • Provide community education & establish community leadership supported by your local Fire Department recommendations and guidance.

      • Project options & process

      • Grant requests & timeframes (single year vs. 5 yr plan)

      • In-kind concept and documentation.

      • Required submittals to SLOCCFSC

        • Letter to form focus group (example)

          • Presentation to SLOCCFSC joint with your local Fire Department –signed letter on letterhead from HOA or combined geographical area group

          • Community lead required to sign and coordinate efforts

        • Project request form completed Project proposal template.doc

          • Request bids  (usually necessary to determine budget)

          • Determine if other funding sources available to assist (HFT/CAL FIRE, PG&E etc)

        • Letter of commitment  (example)

          • SLOCCFSC Match requirement is dollar for dollar.

          • Signed by community lead

        • 5 year plan established (example)

        • Final documentation package

          • Before after photos

          • In-kind timesheets individually signed by participants (example)

            • Volunteer Hourly Rate $24.00

          • Timesheets of cooperators (Fire Department /City or District Employees)
